The partitions on the hard drive are classified into two types: primary partitions and secondary partitions. A primary partition contains the operating system files. There are four primary partitions on the hard drive: your hard drive (HD), your bootable hard disk (HDD), the secondary hard drive (SSD), and the logical unit of storage (LOT). There are a total of eight partitions on the hard drive, but there may be other partitions hidden on the hard drive as well.
