If you don’t want to use a wireless connection then you can use a micro-USB cable to connect your Xbox One controller to the Xbox console.

Insert the micro-USB cable into the Xbox controller USB port and the Xbox controller.

Use a USB cable

Once both controller and console are connected, press + hold the Xbox button on the Xbox controller.

Can’t Connect Your Xbox One Controller?

If you can’t connect your Xbox one controller, try these tips:

Try to replace the batteries of your controller. Also, make sure that your controller is fully charged.

Also, keep both devices in 20-30 feet area.

Update your controller’s firmware

If you are still facing Xbox one connectivity issues, then try to update Xbox one software. You can easily update that firmware from your Xbox One console.

Update controller’s firmware Wirelessly

Step 1: If you have a headset adapter, plug it so it can get updates.

Step 2: Now press the Xbox button to open options. Go to Profile > Settings > Devices and connections. Then go to Accessories > select the controller you want to update.

Select “…” to check the firmware version.

If you can see Update, then select it and select firmware version > download it.
