How to Take a Screenshot on Windows 10

How to Take a Screenshot on Windows

There are three different types of built-in tools, or we can say functions available on Windows 10 Operating system which lets you take a Screenshot quickly.

Method 1: Make use of Print Screen

The Print Screen button is there on Windows systems, and we all are quite familiar with it.

Go to the screen on your Windows 10 system to take a screenshot of it.

Now, press the PrtScn button located at the upper right side of the Keyboard.

Once you press the PrtScn button, your entire screen will be copied to the clipboard on your system.

You can paste the Copied image anywhere on the available tools on your system. You can paste this image in Paint, Photoshop, or any other available tool from where you can save it easily.

This is the most common built-in method available on Windows 10 and other Windows Operating Systems which will gets you a quick Screenshot.

Method 2: PrtScn+ Windows

Microsoft has changed the way of taking a screenshot and saving it directly on the system after the release of their Windows 8 Operating System.

Open the right screen to take a screenshot of it on your Windows system.

Now, press PrtScn and Windows Key

You could see a blink on the screen as if like taking a photo of it.

Now, go to the File Explorer app and navigate to Pictures

Here, you could see the screenshots folder where you will find all the screenshots taken by you on the Windows system.

These methods are highly useful as it also lets you take a Screenshot on Windows 7 without a snipping tool. Yes, the above methods also work on Windows 7 systems.

Method 3: Make use of Windows Snipping Tool

Snipping Tool is very useful for Windows users as it allows them to take a Screenshot quickly. The tool comes with a set of handy functions that lets you resize, crop, mark up the image, etc. You can work on the Screenshot and can share it with anyone easily.

Click the start button and search for the snipping tool. From the drop-down menu, click the snipping tool which is a pre-installed program on your system.

From the drop-down menu, you can select the shape of your Screenshot.

Your screen will dim which means you are ready to take a Screenshot using the snipping tool.

Now, you just need to drag and drop using your Mouse to take a screenshot of a desired part of the screen. When you release the mouse, your screenshot will be captured.

The captured screenshot is saved in the snipping tool’s Window which you can easily access.
