How to Fix Microsoft Defender Threat Service Has Stopped Problem
Step 1: Open the Start menu and then search for “Regedit” > press enter.
Step 2: In the registry editor, go to this path:
(Open Registry Editor > copy and paste below path to the navigation bar and press enter)
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender
Step 3: You can see two values in the Windows defender folder. Right-click on the DisableAntiSpyware > Choose Modify > change the value from “1” to “0” > click on ok.
Step 4: Close the registry editor. Now go to Windows defender from settings and then click on that restart now button. The issue will fix automatically when you click on the restart button.
Method 2: Restart Windows Defender Services
Try this method if 1st method is not working. You have to restart Windows defender services to solve this issue.
Step 1: Open start menu > search for “services.msc” > press enter.
Step 2: Find the Security Center > Right-click on it and then restart.
Method 3: Clean boot your computer
Step 1: Open Start menu > search for “msconfig” > enter.
Step 2: Go to the Services > Hide all Microsoft services > click Disable all button.
Step 3: Open Task Manager > Startup > Disable all the startup applications > Apply and OK.
