2. Type this command to open Deployment Image Servicing and Management service (DISM) in CMD and then press enter.

sfc /scannow

Method 4: Reset Windows Update Process

Step 1: Open Command Prompt as Admin. (Refer Method 3)

Step 2: Type the following commands and press enter after each one.

net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver

Step 3: Then type ‘ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old’ > press enter to rename SoftwareDistribution folder.

Step 4: Now use ‘ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old’ > press enter to rename catroot2 folder.

Step 5: Now enter the following commands to restart the Windows update process.

net start wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserve

This will reset all Windows update processes. Restart your PC to apply the changes.
